APRLP Law was founded in 2020 by Mr. Augustine Peter who is a former Member of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) (2014-19). He has long years of experience in the regulatory space having served as Director General (CCI) at the time of the commencement of enforcement of Competition Law, Director General (PPAC), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India and as Adviser, CCI. He served long years in the government of India dealing with trade, energy, investment, competition, corporate affairs, banking and finance. He headed the Transport and Science and Technology units of the Project Appraisal and Management Division (PAMD) of the erstwhile Planning Commission, during 1994-98 and was part of the appraisal process of Delhi Metro. He was Director (Coordination) in the Trade Policy Division of Department of Commerce (1998-2004) and participated in/coordinated the WTO Ministerial Conferences in Doha (2001) and Cancun (2003), in particular.
He worked at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Investment Promotion Service (IPS) Office in Paris, France, during 1989-94, promoting technology transfer and foreign direct investment. He has also served as Lead International Consultant on investment and industrial policy. Augustine Peter was member of the UNCTAD Inter-Governmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy and was elected its Vice Chairman in 2003.
He earned LLB degree from the Delhi University. He studied Economics at the Universities of Kerala and Bradford, UK. He is a Member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Delhi High Court Bar Association.
